conversation with she
here she goes again.
making one bad decision after another,
realizing but never imbibing
that her life is wasting away.
what would i tell her?
"take a pause.
breathe.
reflect.
look around.
i know you've been hopelessly searching for an anchor,
but you know that
you'll have to find that anchor within you."
seeking external validation is her kryptonite,
a fallacy she never outgrew,
making her believe that her worth
is always tied to others.
understand kid,
you're only as worthy as you think you are yourself.
some people might say you're great,
others may call you a bitch,
but nobody knows your journey like you do.
you decide how much value you put
to other people's opinions.
she has always felt an emptiness
where love is supposed to be.
you might say she is invisible to the world,
mostly forgettable,
never memorable.
people hardly see her besides her rolls of fat
and unkempt hair.
what do you want?
is it physical intimacy
(something you've always been scared of pursuing),
is it friendship?
is it an antidote to the loneliness you feel inside?
she isn't the best at keeping promises to herself.
she needs to know..
the whole world struggles with this,
just try your best
and leave the rest to god.
we'll all die someday
and everything that exists
will cease to matter.
but that doesn't mean
you curl up in your bed
and cry all day.
go out.
live life.
take chances.
don't be afraid.
the world is scary
but it is also lovely.
embrace life,
whatever happens,
you'll handle it.
