cycle of life

there comes a time in a child's life

when they have to take care of their parents

the way the parents cared for the child when the child was younger.

that is the circle of life.

i also saw a quote that said

'the most unexpected wonders to happen to man

will happen to you

if you just lower your expectations'.

what could be the wonders?

child birth, watching the sun set,

 

kissing the love of your life in a winter morning,

a cup of coffee,

a cuddle, a hug from a puppy,

good food,

a really good movie?

as i dig deeper into what the wonders might be,

i realize they are more of the little moments

and things most bizarrely random

that pull at our heartstrings.

the moments we spend on earth

are the most precious ones we'll ever get.

appreciate every second,

every heartbeat,

every hug,

every fresh smelling linens

because we might not know

when our time on earth is to end.
