review of the other bennet sister by janice hadlow

 do i feel hopeful?

i do,

a little.

reading 'the other bennet sister'

made me realize there is hope for me after all.

the protagonist's mary,

the sister no one rooted for,

the one we all collectively forgot,

but this is her story,

and how through trials and tribulations,

she comes to a decent conclusion

that involves a little love, and a whole lot of fairytale romance.

if mary can get out of her funk

after many years of nonsensical existence

where she was poked, prodded and pitied,

then there is hope for all of us.

the lesson i learnt is:

speak your mind,

be respectful,

follow your heart,

and even if you're hurt---

live life as it comes.

so it is safe to say,

i loved the book,

and i'd recommend it to anyone who never gets tired

of reading/ watching/ listening to pride and prejudice content.
