ray of sunshine

i feel drained.

it is often said,

when someone tells/ shows you who they are,

believe them.

i did not heed this advice

and ended up burnt by the rays of the sun.

when i told a friend 

about my persistent plan to meet a secret dalliance,

he declared the plan 'reeks of desperation and desperation is a weakness'.

i decided then and there,

i will not chase anyone anymore.

i will accept my fate--

which is i might never find a love that loves me back,

consistently/tolerably/beautifully,

but i will, despite of it, have a steady, happy and fulfilled life

because i refuse to end up a sorry old maid.

so the plan is---

live life as it comes,

and take circumstances as they arise,

try to be better

one day at a time,

and see where the shores of life lead to.

i was burned by a ray of sunshine,

now i will rise from the ashes

and stay the heck away from that person

because

when a person shows you who they are,

believe them.
